If you want to make a name for yourself in the insurance industry then you can’t go too wrong by hiring someone who already has a big name of their own. That is exactly what Neon has done with its swoop for Richard Heppell, most recently the CFO of
MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd.
Heppell played a major role at Amlin and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Lloyd’s syndicates – he was CFO at MS Amlin Underwriting Ltd and finance director at Mitsui. In addition, he has held a host of senior corporate finance roles at
QBE.
Now the veteran, who boasts close to 30 years of insurance experience, moves to Neon to support its growth and development of Lloyd’s businesses. In particular he will oversee the underwriter’s finance function.
“I am thrilled to welcome Richard to Neon, where his experience of multifaceted integrations and business transformation will contribute directly to us achieving our strategic aspirations,” commented Martin Reith, chief executive of Neon. “His track-record shows continued delivery in the management of high performing finance functions for Lloyd’s businesses and this knowledge will prove valuable as we continue on our exciting trajectory.”
His appointment also comes at a time of expansion for the firm – it opened a Bermuda office in 2016 and has launched Neon Italy.
