Lloyd’s market specialist Neon has hired Ben Murphy to be part of its property insurance group in London.
The latest in a series of high-profile appointments over the last 12 months, Murphy’s addition is part of the ongoing development of Neon’s property teams in both London and Bermuda. He will be working alongside experienced Lloyd’s underwriter Jonathan Powell.
Murphy served as a property underwriter at
Hiscox for 12 years, most recently specialising in commercial property in the North American and Caribbean business. He began his career at
AIG.
A release announcing his arrival outlined that Murphy’s expertise will further support the build-out of Neon’s proposition in the commercial binder space – supplementing the company’s open market D&F (direct and facultative) and property reinsurance businesses.
“I am very pleased to welcome Ben to Neon. Property is an area where we see great potential, and our continued ability to attract exceptionally high quality talent drives great confidence in the business, as we deliver on the opportunities we have identified,” commented Neon chief executive Martin Reith.
He added: “Ben has an excellent reputation coupled with some fantastic relationships in the London market and will be an integral part of our growing London Property Binders team.”
