Specialist insurer Neon has recruited seasoned insurance professional Andrew Dougall as new executive underwriter and head of casualty.
Dougall, who joined the company on Monday, will play a central role in supporting the expansion of key business lines.
The insurer said Dougall will focus on enhancing broker distribution and on generating new business opportunities, classes and niche portfolios.
He will report to Darren Lednor, Neon’s chief underwriting officer.
Neon CEO Martin Reith said Dougall is “outstanding hire” with his credentials and experience in the casualty space that spanned more than 20 years.
“Having strong relationships aligned to knowledge and experience is essential in today’s market,” Reith said. “And I’m confident that Andrew’s well-established reputation and industry expertise will drive growth in our Casualty business and more broadly.”
Dougall joins from Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, where he worked for nearly a decade and most recently served as head of underwriting property and casualty.
He also spent seven years at
CNA Insurance, where he was responsible for the European casualty operations across the London market, UK regions, France, Germany and Denmark.
