Lloyd’s market (re)insurer MS Amlin Underwriting Limited (MS AUL) has named its first-ever reinsurance division head.
The London-based role will be taken up in May by industry veteran Matthew Wilken, who started out at Kiln Syndicate and has more than three decades of reinsurance experience.
Most recently, Wilken served as active underwriter of Syndicate 1910 and Ariel Re’s deputy global head of reinsurance. His credentials also include time spent as chief underwriting officer and president at Argo Re.
“I am delighted to announce Matthew’s appointment as head of reinsurance division as we continue to build out our global reinsurance proposition,” said MS AUL chief underwriting officer Andrew Carrier.
“Matthew brings a wealth of experience and market expertise to MS AUL; during the course of his career, he has held a number of senior roles and earned a reputation as a leader in the reinsurance market.”
Carrier believes the appointment demonstrates MS AUL’s commitment to not only enhance the bench strength of its reinsurance team but also support the company’s ongoing business transformation.
The CUO added: “I am pleased to welcome him to MS AUL and am confident he will prove a valuable addition to our senior underwriting management team.”
