MS Amlin’s marine team – whose remit includes war, terrorism, and political risk – has just become stronger.
Brecht van Hoorebeke has joined the global (re)insurer as war underwriter in charge of growing that particular business across continental Europe. He brings with him more than 13 years of experience in legal, claims, and risk management in marine insurance.
Most recently van Hoorebeke focused on risk management, logistics, and insurance placement in his capacity as Aon’s client manager for marine in London. Over at MS Amlin, his new role sees him based in the Antwerp office in Belgium.
“Brecht’s talent and experience are a great asset to the pan-European marine team,” said global managing director for marine & aviation Andrew Wright. “Providing continuity in the face of political violence – which covers everything from strikes to insurrections and civil war – requires deep sector knowledge combined with the capability of crafting tailored underwriting solutions.
“The addition of Brecht to our team in Antwerp will help us serve the unique needs of our clients and brokers across Europe.”
