Mosaic Insurance is building on its international transactional liability team in the UK with the addition of four new members.

The new arrivals to the UK transactional liability team are Frances Gerrard as manager; Ciaran O’Hara as AVP, underwriter; Ignacio Lopez Regules as analyst; and Vladislàva Pràngadzhiýska as analyst.

Gerrard will be advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional transactions across Europe in her new role, including Central and Eastern Europe and Southeast Europe. With a decade of multi-sector experience in the transactions space, Gerrard was previously a regional transactional specialist with international law firm CMS in Prague, Czech Republic.

O’Hara will be developing business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa – with a focus on the UK – in his new role as AVP, underwriter. He was most recently an underwriter on M&A deals at AIG, serving clients in the UK, Europe, and emerging markets. Before that, he was part of Chubb’s international transactional liability team for two years.

A master’s graduate in corporate finance Bayes Business School, University of London, Regules’ research involved analysing cross-border and cross-industry M&A transactions. He was previously working for a logistics division at Amazon, where he launched a delivery station as a member of the senior leadership team.

Previously a corporate banking associate at UniCredit, Bulgaria, Pràngadzhiýska has experience managing a client portfolio in the company’s large corporate client department. She is an MSc finance & investment banking postgraduate from Nottingham Trent University, UK.

“Turbulent economic conditions and geopolitical uncertainty are concerning and challenging in every respect, including for those engaged in M&A transactions,” said Mosaic global head of transactional liability William Monat. “Mosaic’s investment in building a deep and talented transactional liability underwriting team reflects our commitment to bring market-leading execution to M&A transactions on a global scale.”

According to a release, Mosaic’s appointments for its UK transactional liability team follow a similar expansion of its North American transactional liability division since it hired Monat in April 2020.

The UK appointments also come weeks after Mosaic established a new cyber underwriting unit based in Bermuda. Headed by underwriter George Cole, the unit will focus on securing high-excess layers of coverage for Mosaic’s global clients.
