Bermuda-based reinsurer and European consolidator Monument Re Limited has separated its group chief financial officer (GCFO) and group chief underwriting officer (GCUO) posts, which used to be both held by Alex Brogden.
In its staffing change announcement, Monument Re said Brogden will become GCUO while Carlo Elsinghorst takes on the GCFO position.
“We are delighted to announce these appointments,” commented group chief executive Manfred Maske, “recognising the invaluable contributions that both Alex and Carlo have made to the Monument Group. Alex previously held the joint role of group chief financial officer and group chief underwriting officer.
“These roles have now been split, allowing Alex to focus on the negotiation of successful outcomes for acquisitions, reinsurances, and entry into new markets and new business opportunities, while the GCFO role will focus on the company’s financial and actuarial reporting and operations, treasury, tax, and capital management.”
Brogden has been with the company since 2017, while Elsinghorst came onboard in late 2020 as Ireland CEO. Taking over as interim boss at the Irish unit is Alan Rae.
