Specialist broker Miller has appointed Hayley Malin as head of infrastructure in its construction team and Lauren Gil Ramirez as account executive in its renewable energy and environmental technology (REET) team.
Malin has been in the insurance industry for over two decades, specialising in the renewable energy sector for 10 years. She has held positions at Willis, A J Gallagher and, most recently, RKH Specialty.
In addition to her role as head of infrastructure, Malin will work with the REET team, sharing her renewable energy expertise across the firm’s infrastructure and REET client base. She will report to Pauline Goreham, head of construction.
“I am delighted to welcome Hayley to the team,” Goreham said. “Her deep knowledge of the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors makes her a natural fit for many of our infrastructure and REET investor and developer clients as they grapple with the new global development projects that the energy transition will present. I very much look forward to working with her as we continue to develop and evolve our offering to meet the ever-changing needs of clients.”
Ramirez joins Miller after five years at Marsh, where she specialised in covering advisory, construction and operational risks for a variety of renewable clients. She also has experience in financial services compliance, as well as a legal background. She will be reporting to Rhys Newland, who was first appointed as head of REET in July 2021.
“I am really pleased to welcome both Hayley and Laura to Miller,” Newland said. “Their appointments reflect Miller’s ongoing commitment to develop our renewables offering and their experience reflects our focus on building a renewables and infrastructure offering that is underpinned by genuine global expertise and specialist knowledge in the renewable energy and environmental technology sector. We want to build a team of practitioners who are experienced and passionate about the sector to deliver best in class services to our clients, and I have no doubt that they will both be a great addition to Miller.”
