Leading brokerage firm Miller Insurance has recruited seasoned sports insurance executive David Griffiths from rival broker
Integro.
Griffiths joins Miller’s sports and entertainment broking team in London as a senior adviser, working with group head James Hands to help develop and drive growth plans.
“We are delighted with the progress our sports and entertainment offering has made in the last 18 months,” Hands said. “And having a respected market figure like David on board boosts our formidable growth potential.”
Griffiths boasts extensive knowledge of sports risk management and transfer. His experience primarily covers direct placements for sports associations and commercial organisations, though he has also handled business on behalf of rights holders, governing bodies and intermediaries.
He designs and places tailored insurance programmes for insureds involved in a range of sports including golf, rugby, and tennis, along with event managers and other commercial organisations. His broad class experience includes liability, contingency, personal accident, financial lines and property.
Before joining Miller, Griffiths was the head of sport (UK) at Integro and the managing director of the sports and leisure team at Kerry London.
Griffiths has been in the industry for 25 years, including 17 years at broking giant Marsh, where he became the practice leader for the sport and leisure business.
