Miller, the independent specialist re/insurance broker, has named David Randle as head of commercial business development within its sports and entertainment division. In this capacity, Randle will report directly to Tim Nagle, Miller’s head of sports.
With more than 40 years of experience in the insurance sector, Randle’s background spans retail and wholesale broking across the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Miller, he spent nearly 28 years at Tysers, where he held senior management roles, including managing director.
His focus at Tysers was on client and insurer relationship management and business development. Randle's earlier career includes time at Aon, where he served as development director.
Randle’s appointment follows a period of strategic growth for Miller's sports and entertainment division, including the recent hiring of Siva Krishnan as head of sports and entertainment in Asia. Miller has increased the size of its sports & entertainment team by over 30% since 2022, reflecting its ongoing efforts to broaden its capabilities in key markets.
Commenting on Randle’s appointment, Nagle said Randle’s extensive industry expertise and ability to foster new relationships would be key assets as Miller continues to develop its client offerings.
“I am excited to be joining Miller and to be part of a team which is so well-known in the market. Culturally, Miller felt like a natural home and I look forward to being part of their exciting growth trajectory, making use of my previous experience and relationships in the sector to help clients and the team achieve future goals,” Randle said.
In addition to its expansion in the sports and entertainment space, Miller has also made moves to bolster its reinsurance practice. Earlier this month, the firm appointed Steven Rance as head of reinsurance strategy and innovation and Charlotte Lowe as an account handler. These hires are part of Miller’s continued strategy to strengthen its market presence across core sectors.
Rance joins Miller from Price Forbes Re, bringing with him more than 35 years of experience in global financial services. His career includes six years as a managing partner at Gallagher Re, where he led the global mortgage risk reinsurance division.
