Global Risk Partners (GRP) chief executive Mike Bruce (pictured) has been tapped to lead parent firm Brown & Brown’s European operations and is moving up to his new role as Brown & Brown Europe CEO.
“The growth trajectory in Europe is a testament to our teammates in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and beyond; the attractiveness of our acquisition solutions; and the effectiveness of our model,” Brown & Brown chief executive and president Powell Brown said in a release.
“We feel very positive about our global value proposition as we increase collaboration and look to make future investments. We are confident that Mike is a leader that will assist in implementing our collective vision.”
Bruce has been with GRP – the UK-based insurance intermediary acquired by Brown & Brown in July 2022 – since 2015. His credentials include time spent as group managing director at Heath Lambert and as CEO at Bluefin.
He declared: “Our teammates will be able to derive value from our combined capabilities and deeper collaboration. ‘The Power of We’ is one of Brown & Brown’s consistent cultural focuses, which I am excited to have the opportunity to facilitate in our growing European operations.”
As Europe chief executive, Bruce will be working directly with Brown & Brown executive vice presidents Barrett Brown, Chris Walker, and Stephen Boyd.
Barrett Brown, who serves as president of retail, commented: “To be successful, you need to adapt, collaborate, and think one step ahead. Mike has consistently proven that he can help optimise processes for multiple businesses, using creative strategies and solutions to drive positive outcomes for our customers and teammates.”
