The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) is not standing still. As we approach 2025, we are entering an exciting new chapter in our journey with a refreshed brand identity that embodies our mission to be the voice of advocacy for MGAs and the leading platform for knowledge sharing in the sector.

This is more than just a new look. It is a reaffirmation of our commitment to supporting our members - MGAs, insurers, and suppliers - as we navigate the evolving landscape together. The MGA sector continues to grow sustainably, and the MGAA is evolving with it, ensuring that we remain a trusted, action-oriented, and collaborative resource for our entire community.

The MGA market in the UK and Ireland is thriving, with our full members representing over £15.1 billion in underwriting premium. With more than 430 members, we provide a hub for networking, education, and high-level advocacy. As our sector grows, so do the challenges and opportunities before us. We are committed to data-driven modernisation, making our Association more accessible, dynamic, and impactful for all members.

It is also about clarity. The refreshed brand underscores our core purpose: to advocate for our members at the highest levels, provide industry-leading training, and foster collaboration across the entire MGA ecosystem. Our new website and digital channels will enhance member engagement and knowledge sharing, ensuring that MGAs stay connected, informed, and supported.

What it represents

At its heart, this transformation signifies the MGAA’s strengthened role in the insurance landscape. We are deepening our engagement with regulators - watch this space in 2025 for more updates - to ensure that MGAs have a strong voice in shaping the regulatory agenda. Advocacy remains a top priority - as our recent work securing clarity from the FCA on commission disclosure rules for MGAs demonstrates - and we will continue working closely with policymakers to support fair, proportionate regulation that enables MGAs to thrive.

Training and development are also pivotal for 2025. We have already seen remarkable engagement with our MGA Assess learning platform, with 1,580 users completing training this year. But we are not stopping there. The upcoming appointment of a dedicated Learning & Development Manager will drive even more tailored educational initiatives to support MGAs in meeting evolving compliance and professionalisation requirements - again, watch this space for more updates.

A True Community

MGAs do not operate in isolation, and neither do we. Our membership includes MGAs, insurers, and suppliers - all critical players in this ecosystem. We are committed to fostering collaboration across these groups, ensuring that the MGA sector continues to deliver value and innovation within the broader insurance industry. Our strategic Broker engagement program also connects our members to this important distribution community.

Our Next Gen Committee exemplifies this commitment to nurturing talent, providing young professionals with a platform to grow, connect, and contribute to shaping the future of the MGA sector. By investing in the next generation, we strengthen the entire market.

Looking ahead

The MGAA is evolving, but our mission remains unchanged: to be the authoritative voice and champion of MGAs. With a new brand identity, a stronger advocacy agenda, and an enhanced focus on training and development, we are positioning our members for success in 2025 and beyond.

We invite all MGAs, insurers, and suppliers to join us in this journey as we shape the future together. The MGAA is not standing still. And neither should you.
