The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has appointed Jack Harding (pictured above) as the new chair of its Next Gen Committee.

Harding, who is senior underwriter at Miramar Underwriting Limited, succeeds Kajal Pankhania, director at MGA incubator DA Strategy, who held the role for two and a half years.

The selection process considered multiple candidates before confirming Harding’s appointment. His mandate is to lead the committee in engaging, representing and supporting the next generation of professionals in the MGA market.

Harding has been with Miramar Underwriting Limited for over five years, gaining experience in insurance operations and underwriting while managing a portfolio of delegated authorities. He has contributed to market initiatives and projects aimed at shaping the future of the insurance sector. A member of the MGAA Next Gen Committee for more than three years, he has been involved in education, networking, and strengthening insurer partnerships.

The MGAA Next Gen Committee focuses on training, education, networking, and market engagement, supporting young professionals in the MGA sector.

Outgoing chair Kajal Pankhania said it had been his honour serving as the committee’s chair. “Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some of the brightest and most ambitious young professionals in our market,” he said.

“Together, we’ve formed strong foundations for the MGAA Next Gen, a collaborative force, which encourages personal and professional development, innovative thinking and truly meaningful connections. I am really excited and proud to see Jack and the rest of the committee continue to build on these foundations we constructed together and continue to inspire and empower the next generation of talent in the MGA sector,” Pankhania added.

MGAA chief executive officer Mike Keating noted Pankhania’s success in leading the committee, adding that he is confident that Harding will continue to build on the momentum.

“We are delighted to welcome Jack and are confident he will continue to build on this momentum, ensuring talent, engagement with other market Next Gen groups, training, and advocacy remain at the heart of everything we do,” he said. “Investing in the next generation is essential for the long-term success of our market.”

Meanwhile, Harding expressed his gratitude at being appointed to the role, adding that he is looking forward to continuing the committee’s success.

“This initiative is critical to fostering the skills, networks, and opportunities that will enable young talent to thrive. I look forward to working with the committee to build on Kajal’s inspiring leadership and to champion the voices of emerging leaders across our market,” he said.
