Polo Insurance Managers has announced the appointment of Mel Carvill (pictured) as chairman.
According to a news release, Carvill brings extensive experience in the financial services industry to his new role. He spent over 20 years at Generali Group, where he held positions including head of risk management, head of corporate finance and M&A, head of strategic planning, and head of Western Europe, Americas, and the Middle East.
Currently, Carvill serves as vice chairman of Aviva-Cofco Life Insurance in China, non-executive chairman of Financial Services Opportunities Investment Fund Ltd, non-executive chairman of Bank of Georgia Group plc, and non-executive director of Clearbank Group Holdings Ltd. He also serves on the boards of Guernsey Investment Fund Limited and Home Credit NV. His previous roles include independent non-executive chairman of Aviva Life Holdings UK Limited and Aviva Life & Pensions UK Limited, senior independent director of Sanne Group Plc, and chairman of Friends Life Limited.
