Global professional insurance services provider McLarens has expanded its Ireland team with five senior appointments as part of its strategy to bolster its specialist practices and offerings in the region. Feargal Bracken has been appointed as head of property, Cathal Brennan as construction & engineering lead, Heather McIlveen as head of financial lines, Tony Halpin as private clients & estates lead, and Kathy Spillane as head of operations.
Bracken joins McLarens after working at a major international adjusting firm, where he led property loss adjusting both locally and internationally as part of catastrophe response. He specialises in business interruption, commercial and domestic property claims. Based in Dublin, he is set to oversee the further development of McLarens Ireland’s commercial property practice, focusing on major and complex losses.
Brennan, meanwhile, assumes the role of construction & engineering lead as a dual qualified quantity surveyor and loss adjuster, specialising in large and complex construction and engineering claims. He was previously the senior construction & engineering adjuster of the McLarens office in Sydney, Australia. His new role will have him take the lead on developing McLarens Ireland’s offering across construction, power, and energy losses, which will include working closely with McLarens-company Lloyd Warwick International (LWI).
McIlveen has been promoted to her new role. She has worked in casualty and financial lines claims for over two decades and is an expert in the investigation and handling of liability such as personal injury, construction bond, professional indemnity, and third-party property damage thanks to her legal background. Based in Galway, she will help strengthen McLaren’s leading financial lines proposition.
Halpin, meanwhile, has also been promoted to his new role. He has over 30 years’ experience as an adjuster in the Irish market. Based in Dublin, he offers expertise in various aspects of claims, with a focus on private client and heritage, construction, and major loss.
Finally, Spillane joins the McLarens Ireland team with over 15 years of insurance industry experience. She previously worked as a major international loss adjuster, gaining experience in business development, project management, operations and client service, people and claims management.
With these appointments, McLarens Ireland is now a team of 28, working across offices in Cork, Dublin and Galway.
“We’re continuing to build a great team with strategic hires concentrating on sector specialisms as we anticipate further growth and client demand in these areas,” said Glenn Goggin, managing director of McLarens Ireland.
