MCE Insurance has named Rachel Bennett (pictured) to the role of department manager of defendant claims, further bolstering the motorbike insurer’s claims proposition.
In her new role, Bennett will be supervising a claims caseload worth more than £100 million annually, and will lead a team of 50. She will also be responsible for claims operations projects, providing professional oversight of the claims handling process and lifecycle, professional guidance on files, claims settlement processes and overseeing claims authorisation. Bennett will be operating remotely from her location in the North West, and will work closely with MCE Insurance head of claims Abigail Griffiths in Northamptonshire.
Bennett has more than 15 years of frontline legal experience; she joined MCE Insurance in 2019, initially as a defendant legal team manager.
“Rachel has many years’ experience successfully managing defendant claims,” said MCE Insurance CEO Julian Edwards. “Her determination to exceed targets and commitment to embedding a consistent approach across the organisation are essential qualities for the role.”
According to a company release, Bennett’s appointment is the latest management role to be filled by a woman at MCE Insurance. Having reported a zero gender pay gap earlier last year, the insurer is now turning its attention towards achieving 50/50 gender representation in senior roles.
