Following his appointment as Volante Global executive chairman, Martin Reith will take on a key role within Acrisure, a global brokerage.

He will report directly to Matt Schweinzger and Grahame Millwater, executives overseeing Acrisure Re, its London and international operations, as well as the company’s global managing general agents (MGAs) and programs.

Reith assumes the position of executive chairman at Volante, a Lloyd's of London-based business with a presence in the MGA sector. In this role, he will work closely with Volante's CEO, Talbir Bains, and the company’s executive team.

Alongside his responsibilities at Volante, Reith will also serve as an advisor to Ben Canagaretna, managing director of Acrisure Re Corporate Advisory and Solutions (ARCAS). He will be responsible in reviewing and advising on Acrisure’s strategies to access third-party capital and capitalise on potential opportunities.

Reith brings approximately 40 years of experience in the re/insurance industry, having held senior positions in underwriting, distribution, and alternative capital. Most recently, he was CEO of Helios Underwriting PLC and was the founder and CEO of Ascot Underwriting, established in 2001. He has also served in various advisory and non-executive director roles at several companies within and outside the insurance market.

“I have enjoyed watching Acrisure’s successful international expansion thus far and I look forward to working with Matt and Grahame, as well as many others at Acrisure,” said Reith.

Schweinzger stated that as Acrisure continues to expand, the company aims to benefit from the expertise of experienced leaders both in the London market and globally.

"Martin’s expertise will add tremendous value across several areas of our business,” Schweinzger added.

Millwater said that his long-standing relationship with Reith has given him insight into the value of his reputation and extensive network.

“I have had the advantage of knowing Martin over many years, and his reputation and extensive network of long-term relationships will be extremely valuable and further strengthen our leadership team,” said  Millwater.
