The sharing economy is thriving but brings with it a host of new risks – and now Marsh is hoping to plug the gaps with the launch of a UK & Ireland focused Sharing Economy & Mobility (SE&M) industry group.
To be led by deputy leader of the technology industry group Sam Tiltman, it will bring together 25 sector specialists from across the business and will support all of the brokerage’s clients.
Tiltman, who was previously global communications, technology and media practice leader, believes the group is vital given recent changes to the landscape.
“Technology disruption and the COVID-19 pandemic have irrevocably changed the ways in which we live, work, and travel,” he said. “Many organisations are already making changes to their business models to adapt to changing consumer behaviour. The SE&M group will support our clients as they seek new opportunities for growth and development.”
He will now report into technology industry leader for the UK & Ireland, Carrick Lambert, who noted Tiltman’s credentials.
“Over the past decade, Sam has been at the heart of risk decision-making for many new technological developments and has supported fledgling businesses that have grown into global brands,” he said. “With Sam at the helm, the SE&M industry team will play a key role in focussing the breadth of expertise Marsh can offer our clients as they look beyond the current crisis and develop new ways of doing business.”
