In his new role, Harris will be responsible for Marsh's UK Commercial, Corporate, and Risk Management client segments, as well as Advisory services. He is tasked with ensuring that UK clients have access to the full spectrum of services and solutions offered by Marsh McLennan to address their risk and insurance requirements.
Harris is expected to return to London after serving as the CEO of Marsh's Pacific region, overseeing operations in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea for the past four years. With over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, Harris has held senior positions in both the UK and Australia. Before assuming the role of CEO of Marsh Pacific, he served as CEO of JLT Australia and New Zealand.
Meanwhile, King will collaborate closely with the company CEO to leverage the firm's talent and expertise, enhancing collaboration efforts to deliver greater value to clients. She will lead a new commercial leadership structure aimed at promoting a collaborative approach within the firm to drive innovative solutions for clients.
King brings more than 30 years of experience in senior broking and risk advisory roles to her position. She first joined Marsh in 2017 as UK chief client officer, where she played a key role in developing solutions to help clients address their most critical risk management challenges. King has also served as CEO of Marsh's UK risk management client segment, focusing on meeting the needs of Marsh's largest and most complex clients.
Both roles will be based in London and will report to Chris Lay, CEO of Marsh McLennan UK and CEO of Marsh UK. Harris will officially assume his role on January 1, 2024, pending regulatory approval, while King’s appointment is effective immediately.
“Ailsa and Nick are among the firm’s most experienced leaders and understand the importance of delivering services and solutions that help clients address risks at increasingly critical intersections in their organisations. Under their leadership, Marsh McLennan colleagues across the UK will be in an even stronger position to deliver greater client value,” Lay said.
Elsewhere and continuing the key appointment trend, Marsh also recently announced the appointment of Angela Duca as global head of Credit Specialties for its subsidiary, Marsh Specialty.
