Twenty-year-old Tom Marquand is giddying up in his sport, gaining the support of Markel International.
“I am delighted that Markel International has decided to sponsor me at this stage of my career,” said the flat jockey. “It would be amazing if I could follow in the steps of William Buick, their previously sponsored jockey, who has gone on to achieve so much.
“I’m looking forward to wearing the Markel brand and to progressing my career.”
The specialist insurer’s sponsorship is good for the next two years.
“We are delighted to be sponsoring Tom,” commented Markel president William Stovin. “He won the champion apprentice trophy in his maiden season and we are excited to be associated with such a young talent. We wish him the very best of luck for the coming flat season.”
