Diversity and inclusion (D&I) expert Trevor Gandy has come onboard Markel Corporation as talent and D&I managing director.
Gandy, who previously served as Chubb’s chief diversity officer, has been a consultant for the D&I initiatives at Markel since last year. His credentials also include time spent as D&I principal at Amazon and as president of his own consultancy.
Bringing 25 years of management experience in the areas of D&I, human resources, talent acquisition, and leadership development, the key hire will be working closely with the company’s HR leadership team and global diversity and inclusion steering committee.
Headquartered in Virginia, Markel has insurance hubs in London, Bermuda, and New York. For the benefit of its global workforce, Gandy will focus on employee awareness campaigns, training and education opportunities, recruitment outreach programmes, and strategic partnerships.
