Independent Lloyd’s broker Lonmar Global Risks has appointed veteran broker James Underwood as a divisional director in its specialist professions team.
Underwood will be focused on relationship management with existing key clients and on developing new international professional risks business.
He will be reporting to Alan Newall, Lonmar’s managing director of professions.
“I am thrilled to be joining a successful, client focused independent broker such as LONMAR, and look forward to being part of this dynamic growing business and its highly regarded professions team,” said Underwood.
Underwood is an experienced international professional and financial lines expert. He previously held a senior broking position at
Howden for 10 years.
"James is a great addition to our professions team, with considerable expertise in handling professional risks classes both internationally and in the UK,” Newall said.
"This recruitment continues our ongoing strategy of strengthening our capabilities and in particular adds to our international expertise,” he added.
Underwood’s appointment came after investment vehicle Global Risk Partners backed the management buyout of Lonmar in April.
