London Market Group (LMG) recently announced that its chief executive Clare Lebecq will be stepping down and has today revealed it has appointed Caroline Wagstaff (pictured) to the role of interim chief executive. Wagstaff will be seconded on a part-time basis from April 01 until the end of 2021.
Commenting on Wagstaff’s appointment, chairman of LMG Matthew Moore said the group was delighted to welcome her to the role. He noted that she brings over 20 years of experience in the London Market to the trade body and that her knowledge of the market, alongside her commitment to it, would be invaluable in enabling LMG to shape and deliver its agenda over the coming year.
Meanwhile, Wagstaff, who will also remain as a director of communications agency Luther Pendragon, said she is a passionate advocate for the London Market and highlighted that LMG has a unique place as the only forum that can help to debate and take action on the key areas impacting this space.
“I am delighted to be taking over from Clare,” she said, “building on the great work she has done, and excited to work with all our stakeholders to enhance the market’s reputation and help drive future growth and success.”
