Lockton has entered into a legal battle with an account executive, who left the broker’s Dublin operations last month, over the ex-employee’s supposed breaches of non-solicitation and non-competition covenants.
Ahead of a full hearing in the Lockton Insurance Brokers Ltd v Lougheed case, a report by The Sunday Times said Ireland’s High Court Judge Leonie Reynolds granted Lockton’s application for an emergency freezing order in relation to Andrew Lougheed’s correspondence with client Grant Thornton, which is at the centre of the lawsuit.
The freeze is aimed at ensuring that evidence of the alleged contract violation is not wiped out. Lougheed is now employed by ReSure Corporate Brokers.
Meanwhile the publication noted that an existing Lockton executive has been slapped with disciplinary action after issuing references for ex-colleagues Garry Fitzroy and Ross Barron. The former managers are ReSure directors.
