Lockton has named Andrea Guffanti as head of Continental Europe, a newly created role based in London.
The appointment will see Guffanti collaborate closely with the Lockton Global Partners’ operations team, led by Michael Goudime, as well as Lockton’s specialty teams in the London Market and its owned operations in Europe. The overarching goal is to enhance client reach and bolster strategic relationships across the continent.
Guffanti has over 25 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Lockton, he spent 17 years at Aon where he most recently served as the EMEA chief commercial officer from 2018 to 2023. He was also chief executive officer of Aon Austria (2014-2018), chief commercial officer of Aon Iberia and Middle East (2011-2014), and managing director of the Southern European and Latin American team (2006-2011). Before his time at Aon, Guffanti spent nine years as the executive director of global financial executive risk at WTW.
In a news release, Lockton Europe chief executive EJ Hentenaar expressed his excitement about Guffanti’s appointment and called him a “perfect fit” for the company.
“I am excited to welcome Andrea Guffanti to Lockton,” said Hentenaar. “With a distinguished track record in complex problem-solving and exceptional client service, he will be an invaluable addition, particularly his depth of experience across the continent of Europe. I and the rest of the leadership team are excited to begin working with him, drawing on his experience, technical skills, and leadership expertise.”
Guffanti also commented on his move to Lockton and expressed admiration for its “entrepreneurial culture, commitment to private ownership, and dedication to providing the very best service to its clients.”
“It is a privilege to be joining Lockton at a time in which the risks facing our clients are fast-evolving and dynamic, requiring best-in-class innovation and creative thinking,” he said further. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Earlier this month, Lockton announced that it has tapped former professional rugby player Gordon D’Arcy to take up a newly created role as business development executive within its transactional risks division.
