Lloyd’s coverholder Certa Insurance Partners has expanded with a new office in Germany.
Specialising in tax insurance, the underwriting agency secured a 49% investment from its capacity provider, Markel, last October. Now, “Certa is growing” and is open in Hamburg, as announced by co-founder and chief executive Edward Beckwith on LinkedIn.
Certa’s new office, the build-out of which will be led by senior tax underwriter Dr Sarah Slavik-Schulz, is an addition to the company’s existing premises in London and Barcelona.
“I’m excited to be part of such a successful team and get right into business to enhance Certa’s growth in the German and European market,” Slavik-Schulz commented.
“2024 starts with the exceptional opportunity to make my impact on the German and European tax insurance market by using all my strengths and ambitions.”
A certified tax lawyer with more than 12 years of experience advising on the full range of German taxation, the key hire previously worked at KPMG, Norton Rose Fulbright, and Heuking.
