Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has named Laura Burns as head of client management – a newly established role.
Burns will be responsible for managing client relationships for LSM’s London Market brokers and global products; she will also focus on building and delivering a client management strategy to meet their needs, a release said.
Burns will be based in London and will report to LSM head of business development Mark Stephenson.
“The role is designed to give us an in-depth understanding of our clients’ evolving wants and needs, so that we can deliver high performance to support them. Laura’s knowledge and experience of the London Market, along with her excellent relationship-building skills will be key to helping her to deliver a robust client management strategy,” commented Stephenson on the appointment.
Burns joined LSM from Mitsui Sumitomo in 2010; she has been involved in insurance since 2006. Prior to her promotion, her most recent role was head of broker management in the London Market.
LSM is the specialty and commercial re/insurance business arm of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.
Last week, LSM appointed Alli MacLean to the newly created role of head of accident & health and contingency. Based in London, MacLean reports to head of specialty binders Lewis Edwards. MacLean’s appointment also came after contingency chief Yael Mimran left LSM in April.
