Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed Pierre-Édouard Fraigneau (pictured) as its chief underwriting officer for Europe, effective immediately.
Fraigneau joins LSM from Sanlam, where he served as commercial lines director and member of the executive committee, Pan Africa. He has over 17 years of underwriting and leadership experience across many lines of business and complex portfolios, and he has worked with clients and distribution partners to come up with profitable growth strategies.
In the newly created role, Fraigneau will manage the performance and governance of lines of business and the underwriting of LSM’s direct insurance business in Europe. He will report to LSM Europe head Kadidja Sinz and LSM deputy managing director Phil Hobbs.
Commenting on the appointment, Sinz said: “I am delighted to welcome Pierre-Édouard to Liberty. He brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the table in Europe and most recently across Pan Africa. I look forward to him joining our European team as we grow our footprint in continental Europe. This new role is integral to us delivering our strategic ambitions.”
