Miguel Martinez Alvarez will take the post as head of business development for the reinsurance division of
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), according to a company release.
Martinez comes on board following an extensive stint at
Munich Re, where he spent almost two decades in diverse roles spanning locations in Europe and Southern America. His professional experience covers expertise in underwriting, business development, and client management.
In his new role, Martinez will focus on developing and executing innovative strategies for LSM’s reinsurance business, as well as identifying and breaking into new markets and enhancing cross-selling and operational excellence across LSM’s reinsurance offices.
LSM chief underwriting officer of reinsurance Dieter Winkel said: “Miguel will play a key role in LSM’s reinsurance business development strategy. We have a major opportunity to maximise the value we can bring to our key clients. Miguel will help make this a top priority. His extensive experience and insight in the reinsurance market will contribute towards the success and growth of our reinsurance division.”
LSM offers specialty and commercial insurance across key markets around the globe through 900 employees in 26 offices. It is part of the Massachusetts based multinational
Liberty Mutual Insurance Group.
