Legal & General swoops for former Aviva and AB Bernstein executive

Legal & General Group Plc has recruited Ed Houghton to the role of investor relations director.

Houghton, who started his career at Accenture, spent more than seven years in senior strategy and finance positions at Aviva prior to his nearly eight-year stint at AB Bernstein where he covered European insurers and asset managers.

“Ed brings a unique combination of highly-rated sell-side and industry experience,” commented Legal & General chief financial officer Jeff Davies.

“He has a real understanding not just of the financial aspects of our business and sector, but also of the practical requirements of executing successfully to deliver results for shareholders and customers.”

In his new capacity, Houghton will be supported by Alyssa Manning and Sujee Rajah of Legal & General’s investor relations team.
