Kinetic Insurance Brokers has strengthened its top leadership with a series of appointments following the company’s acquisition by Torlea Group.
The Lloyd’s broker has named Michael Sullivan and Peter Bassel as chairman and CEO, respectively, while Philip Hicks has been appointed as COO.
“The depth and breadth of industry experience this board brings to Kinetic is fantastic,” said Sullivan, who has over 21 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance honed in North America and Europe.
“I look forward to working with them, to grow the core wholesale broking division as well as the attractive specialty niche business in the UK and North America where we bring a solid value proposition to our clients,” he added.
Sullivan previously retired from the position of chief underwriting officer, Europe general insurance, at
Zurich Financial Services.
Bassel, meanwhile, brings 28 years of re/insurance experience to Kinetic. He has held senior executive roles at insurance companies based in Canada.
Hicks boasts 22 years of industry experience, having most recently served as COO of Acapella Syndicate 2014 and as international head of governance at
Ironshore.
Joining the company board as non-executive directors are Ray Dowling, Corcoran Byrne and Robert Hendel.
Kinetic announced the latest appointments just a few months after it was acquired by Torlea Group from Hamilton UK Holdings, a subsidiary of Hamilton Insurance Group.
