Several insurance organisations have announced leadership changes as they strengthen their service offerings.
The MGAA has appointed Alison Cairns (pictured above, left) as its new training and development manager. She joins from AXA UK, where she was underwriting competency development manager, and brings extensive experience in insurance training, development, technical capability and financial services coaching.
The MGAA aims to enhance its training and development initiatives to support the professional growth of managing general agents (MGAs). CEO Michael Keating said Cairns will be responsible for expanding training programmes across underwriting, claims, operations and compliance, as well as leading educational partnerships and member-led seminars.
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has appointed Richard Morgan as head of corporate within its UK retail division, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS). Morgan joins from Marsh, where he led national sales for the education practice. He also previously held senior roles at Willis, JLT and Towergate.
In his new role, Morgan will oversee SRIS’s corporate teams in London, Birmingham and Manchester and focus on service, growth strategies and strengthening the company’s position in the corporate market.
SRIS managing director Ollie Thorne said Morgan’s leadership and experience will help drive the company’s corporate team and reinforce SRG’s growth strategy.
Andrew George (pictured centre) has been named as president of Marsh Specialty, effective immediately. He has been with Marsh since 1988 and has held leadership roles in the energy, power and credit specialties practices across multiple regions.
In his new role, George will oversee Marsh Specialty’s global business, which includes aviation, climate and sustainability, construction, financial and professional lines (FINPRO), and private equity, mergers and acquisitions (PEMA).
Based in London, George will report to Martin South, president and CEO of Marsh, and will join the Marsh Executive Committee. Commenting on the appointment, South said George’s leadership will support clients in managing evolving risks.
Giacomo Mariani (pictured right) has joined Everest to lead its insurance business in Italy after the Milan office opening last November.
Mariani most recently served as deputy head of strategic teams at Aon, where he led and managed broking for high-profile Italian corporate and public entity clients. Prior to serving as a board member for Global Safe Insurance Broker, Mariani was head of large brokers and direct clients at Zurich. He will report to Jose Ramon Morales, head of southern Europe at Everest.
