Keoghs has announced the addition of two new partners in Scotland, selecting Laurie Traynor (pictured left) and Zoe Strong (pictured right) for the motor and disease teams at its Glasgow offices.
Traynor and Strong were tapped to join the legal solutions arm of Davies after the firm saw a period of rapid expansion within the Scottish marketplace, according to an emailed news release.
Traynor has over 22 years of experience and was previously a partner at Ince & Co. She is an expert in the defence of large and intricate employer and public liability and motor claims, as well as managing fatal accident inquiries and health & safety executive and motor prosecutions.
Additionally, she has advised insurers, large corporations, public bodies, and individuals in complex regulatory claims, including those arising from fatalities and catastrophic incidents.
Commenting on her new role, Traynor elaborated on her decision to join Keoghs and said she had been impressed by its “impressive client list” and “market-leading team.”
“I am delighted to strengthen both the large loss and HSE/motor prosecution defence offerings in Scotland,” she said. “I look forward to using my expertise to assist Keoghs clients wherever I can.”
Strong comes from Weightmans to spearhead Keogh’s Scottish disease team. Her two-decade career is highlighted by her experience handling industrial disease claims in both England and Scotland. She also specialises in high-value and complex asbestos claims, complemented by her proficiency in all areas of legacy claims. She has defended a diverse array of clients, including insurers, local authorities, central government, and large self-insured clients across various industries.
As part of her new role, Strong aims to grow her team and is actively recruiting to help meet demand as Keoghs Scotland broadens its client base in the disease sector.
“I’m really excited to be joining the team in Glasgow and for the opportunity to build on the solid foundations Keoghs already have,” said Strong. “There is fantastic potential to work together with our new and existing clients and to promote significant growth in the disease team. Keoghs are highly motivated towards ensuring that we really deliver for our clients and I am committed to maintaining those high service levels as I drive the disease team forward.”
Douglas Cowan, lead partner at Keoghs Scotland, also welcomed both Traynor and Strong to their new roles.
“I’m delighted to welcome both Laurie and Zoe to their new roles, bringing their own specialist expertise for our clients,” he said. “This latest recruitment drive is proof our ambitious expansion in Scotland is proving successful and we look forward to seeing what 2024 brings.”
Earlier this year, Keoghs made a series of appointments to its roster in Scotland. As part of this announcement, the firm tapped two new partners to lead its health and abuse teams.
