Insurance law firm Kennedys is expanding its apprenticeship programme to include its claims handling team.
The company has introduced two apprentices for the division, bringing its total to 11 this year, as it continues to ramp up its claims teams across Dublin, London, Bristol and Taunton. Overall, the offices have seen employee numbers jump by 24% during the last financial year, with the claims team handling many major broker, MGA and insurer-led schemes and dealing with thousands of notifications.
The two new faces for the team are Jade Gardener and Lillyanne Pidgeon, who will both be based in Taunton. They are looking to develop core technical knowledge in insurance and key areas of practice, including professional indemnity.
“Kennedys pioneered legal apprenticeships and since its inception the apprenticeship programme has proven hugely successful,” said claims partner Vittorio Cinque (pictured). “It has enabled talented school leavers to embark on an exciting career where they can earn as they learn, while providing Kennedys with an important talent pipeline.
“We have now expanded the scheme into our claims handling business, training the next generation of claims handlers to work on an international caseload that continues to grow, with the last financial year seeing a record number of new matters across our four offices.”
The moves comes after Kennedys launched a new training programme back in May, as it targets the launch of the Solicitors Qualifying Examination next year. That will see law graduates starting to work at Kennedys while gaining legal work experience.
