Jensten Group has appointed Steve Folkard as group risk and compliance director, effective Dec. 1.
In this role, Folkard will lead the risk and compliance team across Jensten Group’s growing portfolio of businesses, encompassing franchised and non-franchised broking, wholesale broking and underwriting operations. The appointment follows a period of rapid expansion for Jensten Group amid significant regulatory change across the industry.
“We have grown exponentially over the last 18 months, both organically and through a successful mergers and acquisitions programme,” said Alistair Hardie, CEO of Jensten Group. “This appointment underlines that, with over £300 million gross written premium, we are now a serious player in the UK insurance broking market, and the importance we place in investing in those with the experience and skills ensures we continue to deliver to our customers and our partners.”
Folkard has over 34 years insurance and consultancy experience. He was most recently group compliance director at BGL Group. Prior to this, he was a director at PWC, leading the conduct and compliance team across both wholesale and retail UK insurance markets.
“Jensten is expanding rapidly, and I am looking forward to ensuring the risk and compliance function continues to be a key component in ensuring the business can achieve its growth ambitions and provide great value products to its customers and best-in-class support to its partners.” Folkard said.
