Insurance distribution firm Jensten Group has completed its acquisition of schemes broker Darwin Clayton, following approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The transaction brings to the fold more than 40 staff, 2,300 clients, and more than £20 million in gross written premiums to Jensten. Darwin Clayton has a well-established heritage in the space, and it recently marked its 100th year of trading in 2020.
The acquisition demonstrates Jensten’s commitment to the strategy of forming both regional and specialist ‘centres of excellence,’ the company said, with Darwin Clayton being the centre of excellence for schemes. The broker is best known for its existing suite of specialist schemes, including insurance solutions for cleaning, security, facilities management, and electrical contracting sectors. These lines also further complement Jensten’s existing schemes, including pharmacy, hair and beauty, cosmetics, and training.
Jensten Retail managing director Rob Organ said that a major part of the firm’s strategy is developing and distributing bespoke products which meet the specialist needs of different clients across various sectors.
“We know offering clients solutions which are designed to meet their specific needs is a genuine differentiator. I’m delighted to welcome Simon Henderson and the Darwin Clayton team to Jensten. They have proven capability and significant experience in this space and together we’ll focus on growing the range of schemes, offering compelling propositions to more client groups,” Organ said.
Recently, Jensten also announced its acquisition of the Coversure Poole Group for an undisclosed sum.
