Another one bites the dust: insurance broker Ignition Select is the latest firm in Ipswich to go into administration, affecting about 70 employees.

Insurance agency Call Connection recently suffered the same fate, with over 130 jobs lost in the process, according to a report by East Anglian Daily Times.

“Gary Shankland and Kirstie Provan of Begbies Traynor (London) LLP were appointed as joint administrators of Ignition Select, the Ipswich-based insurance broker, on July 18, 2017 by the directors of the company,” said a spokesperson quoted by the report.

Ignition Select and Call Connection are said to be majority owned by businessman Graeme Kalbraier.

The report also cited the East of England Co-op which will lose around 170 people when it shuts down its distribution centre in Ipswich.
