Asset manager Invesco has hired Joe Steidl to be its head of UK Insurance Distribution.
Steidl has more than 15 years of experience in business development. He joins the company from Research Affiliates, a global quant investment firm, where he was head of EMEA Institutional Sales and Strategic Partnerships.
As head of the UK insurance distribution, Steidl will be a part of the UK distribution management team that will develop the distribution strategy and sales plan across the UK insurance channel. He will also lead the business development of the company’s UK insurance segment.
Invesco head of UK distribution Kate Dwyer said Steidl’s experience will help strengthen the company’s partnerships with insurance clients, as well as support the company’s business priorities. Dwyer assumed her current role in December 2022 after joining as head of UK ETF coverage.
Steidl will work closely with the distribution teams, as well as with Charles Moussier, who is the company’s head of EMEA Insurance Client Solutions.
Steidl will report to Sachin Bhatia, the company’s head of UK Institutional and EMEA consultant relations who is said to take on an additional role to include the insurance team.
“All of the distribution team across the UK will work collaboratively to deliver our capabilities and exceptional service to our clients,” Dwyer said.
Steidl will also work with Sean Connery, who was promoted to head of Ireland Institutional and director of UK insurance, taking on additional responsibilities with the insurance distribution team. Connery was the company’s head of Ireland Institutional and director of UK Institutional before being promoted.
Earlier this year, Invesco promoted Tom Banks to head of UK ETFs. He previously held roles at HSBC Management and JP Morgan Asset Management. Joe Bello, who joined the company in November 2023, was also promoted to head of ETF institutional and asset managers.
