The Ardonagh Group’s Inver Re has snapped up advisory head Mark Shumway from Howden Capital Markets.
Shumway, who launched Howden Capital Markets and was head of advisory at what was Howden’s data and analytics division HX, will assume the same position at Inver Re. At the reinsurance broker, Shumway will lead a new advisory practice.
“I’m excited to join the talented teams at Inver Re and further expand its services to clients across the world,” the London-based key hire said in a release.
“I can’t think of a finer platform from which to provide clients with insight and customer care – fundamentals often lacking within the broking oligopoly.”

Launched in 2021, Inver Re advises clients across reinsurance broking, capital solutions, and strategic advisory. The business is manned by 100 experts in London, Bermuda, and the US.
