International General Insurance (IGI) has strengthened its team in London with the appointment of three new underwriters.
Simon Mepham takes on the role of directors and officers (D&O) liability senior underwriter, bringing more than 25 years of London Market insurance experience in both broking and underwriting.
Mepham will focus on establishing and developing a book of international commercial D&O liability insurance and associated lines of business. He will report to Chris Mauduit, professional and casualty lines class underwriter.
Ben Cubitt joins IGI’s financial institutions team as an underwriter to lead the growth of a portfolio of financial institution business for civil liability, crime and D&O liability classes.
Reporting to class underwriter Andrew Wood, Cubitt will focus on asset management, corporate and alternative finance sectors.
Joanna Cousins has also been appointed as political violence underwriter. Reporting to class underwriter Craig Curtiss, she will be responsible for improving IGI’s political violence plan.
“These appointments broaden our underwriting offering and strengthen our team in London,” said IGI UK chief executive Andreas Loucaides.
“IGI is focused on prudent, well-managed growth, and Simon, Ben and Joanna will further enhance our market standing,” she added.
