North Tyneside youth will enjoy more of a commitment to the community from telematics firm Insure The Box, which has inducted 40 staff members into its further education courses this year.
Twenty more apprentices are expected to hop aboard the programme in the coming months.
In addition, the firm cemented its partnership with the local community by signing a 10-year lease at the Quorum Business Park in the area earlier this month.
These efforts are part of the telematics firm’s thrust towards youth development through further education and apprenticeships in the North Tyneside community. The programme involves training in business administration, customer service and leadership, which was launched when the firm started operations in the locale in 2010.
Towards the end of the year, the programme will be expanded to include more bespoke courses such as digital learning, compliance, and learning and development.
“In any organisation it’s the people that create value,” Andy Preacher, group head of people and culture at Insure The Box said in a statement. “And here in North Tyneside, we’re lucky that there’s an abundance of talent within the local community.”
“[B]y investing in individuals and helping them to not only discover a profession they enjoy, but also further their skills in that area, we’re ultimately creating a stronger and more sustainable business,” Preacher also explained.
Norma Redfearn, elected mayor of North Tyneside, said in the same statement, “I am always delighted to see a local business invest in our young people and provide them with opportunities to help them on their way to a successful future. As a council we are committed to supporting apprenticeships and providing young people with the skills they need to build a career for themselves.”
