The independent insurance broker TL Dallas has recently announced the appointment of Tracy Hickman (pictured right) and Anna Jones (pictured left), to its Cockermouth team, in Cumbria. Both seasoned insurance brokers and risk managers have joined as part of the firm’s plan to further strengthen the company’s presence in the area as well as to beef up its portfolio, particularly in the commercial and agriculture sectors.
The team, originally composed of Emma Irving and Lynne Taylor when the office opened in May 2023, now has eight members. Other members of the Cockermouth branch are Philip Jackson, Heather Wood, Karen Coombe and their apprentice Talia Frazer. Coombe and Frazer joined the team last January 2024.
In addition to Hickman’s and Jones’ appointments, the company also announced that it will be hiring another insurance broker and an account executive as part of its expansion plan for the branch.
Meanwhile, Hickman has expressed her excitement about joining TL Dallas’ Cockermouth team.
“I wanted to work for an independent broker that cares about its employees and clients. I’ve known Lynne all my working life and worked with other members of the TL Dallas team for many years, so it’s great to get everyone back together! I enjoy building long-lasting client relationships and always do my best for each and every client, which includes businesses of all sizes, as well as working for some farm clients,” Hickman said.
Hickman will be bringing her three-and-half decade experience as an insurance broker and risk management specialist to the company. For Jones, joining TL Dallas’ Cockermouth team is her grand comeback, after a short hiatus in insurance broking. Jones has 13 years of strong experience in the insurance industry, starting as an apprentice before moving across to commercial client work.
“After taking a short break from the industry, I approached TL Dallas as I knew that four of my former colleagues were happy there. Right from the first interview it immediately felt like home, with a positive and friendly atmosphere and a real dedication to prioritising individual clients’ needs and obtaining the most successful outcomes,” Jones said.
On the other hand, TL Dallas managing director Polly Staveley also expressed her confidence with the expansion of the firm’s Cockermouth office.
“Our Cockermouth office is a prime example of why it’s so important to have a local presence serving clients that operate across all industry sectors throughout Cumbria. Their experience levels really are unrivalled, and as our client base continues to grow so does the team, in order to keep providing a personal and knowledgeable insurance broking service, alongside our in-house claims team for when things go wrong,” she said.
