Momentum Broker Solutions, Tysers, Towergate Employee Benefits and The Clear Group have each made senior hires to strengthen their operations and enhance support for clients.
Momentum Broker Solutions has appointed John Adey (pictured) as financial director, where he will lead the company’s financial strategy and operations as the company continues to expand.
Adey has more than 20 years of experience in finance and insurance, having previously served as finance director at Erskine Murray.
“John’s passion for collaboration and his track record of working closely with brokers make him a perfect fit for Momentum,” said Howard Pepper, managing director. “John’s leadership will help us continue delivering financial strength and strategic guidance to our partners, and we’re excited to have him as part of the team.”
Adey’s appointment comes as Momentum marks its 14 consecutive year of growth with further expansion and investment planned.
Craig Cox and Tom Walker have been appointed joint deputy managing directors at Tysers. Meanwhile, Amos Brattle has been promoted to head of cargo and Mark Rees to head of hull and war. These appointments aim to strengthen the company’s position in the international marine insurance market.
“Both Craig and Tom are established senior leaders and bring a wealth of industry skills and experience to their roles,” commented Tysers CEO Tom Wilson. “I have every confidence that marine & aviation will continue to go from strength to strength in their very capable hands.”
Charlie Goodman (pictured centre) has been appointed client director at Towergate Employee Benefits, where he will provide pension and financial wellbeing expertise to existing clients, while also supporting new business development.
Goodman has worked in employee benefits for more than 13 years, including roles at Grant Thornton and his own business, Good Money Guidance. He is also a director of the Institute for Financial Wellbeing, secretary of the CIPD branch in Central London and a committee member of the NextGen Pensions diversity initiative.
“Charlie is a fantastic addition to the team. He will focus on supporting clients with financial wellbeing and workplace pensions, strengthening this increasingly important and relevant area of our services to clients,” said Mark Pugh, head of consulting services at Towergate.
Simon Smith (pictured right) has been appointed as group chief operating officer at The Clear Group. Smith has over 20 years of experience in leadership roles within major insurance firms, including Willis Towers Watson and Swiss Re.
As COO, Smith will oversee operations, IT and data, integrations, claims and procurement. His appointment follows Phil Williams’ transition to group chief commercial officer and retail MD of Clear Insurance Management in November 2024.
“We are delighted to attract someone of Simon’s experience to this pivotal leadership role within Clear,” said Mike Edgeley, group CEO of Clear Group. “His international expertise in business change and transformation make him a key addition to our executive team as we continue to build out our model across the UK and Continental Europe.”
