Several appointments have been announced across the insurance sector. AXA XL has restructured its UK & Lloyd’s underwriting operations, Berkeley Alexander has expanded its business development team, and Compre has appointed a new chairman.
Louise Nevill has been appointed as chief underwriting officer – specialty at AXA XL, while Sundeep Khera was named head of marine and energy. The company said these appointments are part of a wider restructuring of the underwriting operating model under chief underwriting officer Mike Gosselin.
Khera, who has been with AXA XL since 2013, will assume his expanded role immediately. He currently serves as global chief underwriting officer – marine hull and head of marine underwriting, UK & Lloyd’s, since 2021.
General insurance provider Berkeley Alexander has appointed Grant Robinson (pictured) as its new business development manager.
Robinson joins from AXA PPP, where he was senior sales executive. He has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance market, with roles in sales, business development and claims.
In his new role, he will engage directly with intermediaries, helping them identify opportunities to expand their market reach.
John Howard has been appointed as independent non-executive chairman of Compre Group, a Bermuda-domiciled international specialty reinsurance.
Howard has more than 30 years of experience in insurance and financial services. Most recently, he was CEO of Truist Insurance Holdings, where he held leadership roles for 20 years. He also held executive roles at Prudential Financial, GE and Conseco.
Howard’s appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
