Several insurance firms made it to the “1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain” 2017 report recently published by the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).
According to the LSEG, the annual report celebrates some of the “fastest-growing and most dynamic” small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK and Europe.
“Those businesses and many more like them are going to be a crucial part of our mission to build a stronger, fairer country,” Prime Minister Theresa May said in a commentary opening the report.
“They are the ones who will help deliver prosperity that is shared by everyone, helping to command the public trust that is needed to maximise the opportunities that free markets and free trade bring,” she added.
The report also examines in detail the opportunities and challenges facing SMEs and looks at the sectors and trends that will shape the future of the British and European economies.
Among the insurance firms included in the report is independent specialty MGA Nexus Group, a new entry to the list.
“We are proud to be associated with her (May) comments and such ratification of all our hard work speaks volumes - not just for Nexus, but also for the other relatively young insurance related companies who have been included in the list,” said Nexus founder and executive chairman Colin Thompson.
Thompson said the inclusion of insurance firms in the report gives a “clear demonstration of the progress being made in the insurance industry as it meets the new challenges, such as cybercrime, in today’s world.”
