The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has reappointed incumbent chairman Andrew Brooks (pictured above) to a second term, following a unanimous vote by the association’s board.
Brooks, the CEO of Ascot Underwriting, has served as LMA chairman since January 2019 and has been a member of LMA’s board since 2012. His second three-year term will commence Jan. 1.
“I am delighted that Andrew has agreed to continue in the role of chairman and would like to thank him for his expert leadership of our board of highly influential and talented executives,” said Sheila Cameron, LMA chief executive. “Andrew’s continued guidance and contribution has been invaluable in helping the LMA represent the best interests of the managing and members’ agent community.”
Brooks’ reappointment comes after six new members joined the LMA board in September, which almost doubled the number of women board members. This move was part of the LMA’s drive to be more inclusive, keeping it on track for its goal of having at least 30% of board members be female and/or come from an ethnic minority by the end of 2023.
“I am honoured to be reappointed LMA chairman and look forward to continuing my work with Sheila Cameron to ensure the LMA is effectively representing the interests of its members and enabling the future success of the Lloyd’s market,” Brooks said.
