iFarm Underwriting – the farm and agriculture specialist arm of Rokstone Underwriting –has welcomed two new underwriting specialists and promoted another as underwriting manager.

Lee Ellis will serve as a senior underwriter with iFarm, joining from Geo Underwriting. At Geo, Ellis was senior product manager for three years, managing the company’s agricultural and SME products. Prior to Geo, Ellis also worked at Rural Insurance for eight years and at Direct Line for 12 years.

Also joining iFarm as a senior underwriter is Jade Henry, who has over 10 years of experience in broking and underwriting, with specialist agricultural risk experience. She has previously served companies such as Marsh Commercial, AXA and Rural Insurance. In her new role, Henry will work with iFarm’s 20-strong unit of specialist farm and farm motor underwriters.

iFarm has also promoted Adam Mawer to the role of underwriting manager. Mawer previously served as development underwriter at iFarm, with 15 years of market experience. Before joining iFarm, he was the agricultural propositions manager at Zurich, and spent seven years at NFU Mutual. In his new role, Mawer will manage the farm portfolio and lead the iFarm team to grow its book of business while delivering outstanding customer service to partner brokers, a release said.

A company release noted that the iFarm team is working closely with Rokstone chief underwriting officer Gavin Dollings and his team to develop and improve iFarm’s digital underwriting for “optimal performance.”

“Building on the success of iFarm’s already award winning quote and bind product suite for farms and agricultural businesses, we‘ll be addressing how we can further utilise data analytics to support our brokers,” said Dollings. “Inflation will have a dramatic impact on most farm businesses so we’ll be enhancing the products and pricing capabilities with digital tools that allow us to make more segmented pricing decisions based on granular data.”

Dollings added that this sophisticated level of segmentation will lead to more accurate pricing and provide iFarm’s broker partners maximum flexibility.

In March, Rokstone entered into a binder agreement with the Slovenia-based insurance carrier Zavarovalnica Triglav. The deal provided Rokstone with an additional €1 million line for facultative property worldwide.
