Howden has opened a new office at The Avebury in Milton Keynes, relocating its Bedford team as part of its regional expansion strategy.
Howden says that the nearly 30,000 sq ft space is designed to accommodate the company’s hybrid working model, incorporating both collaborative and individual work areas.
The office layout follows the design of Howden’s London headquarters, featuring an open-plan arrangement, flexible workstations, and communal kitchen and dining areas. The company has positioned the site as a hub for its growing operations in the region.
As part of its sustainability efforts, Howden has secured a gold SKA accreditation from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors for the office’s refurbishment. The company highlighted the office’s design as one that encourages teamwork and adaptability.
David Shalders, COO of Howden, described the opening of the Milton Keynes office as a significant step in the company’s UK expansion.
“This modern, flexible space aligns with our commitment to fostering a hybrid working environment that supports collaboration and innovation,” Shalders said. “We’re excited to welcome our team to this new hub, which reflects our dedication to providing the best working experience for our employees and the highest level of service to our clients."
Over the past year, Howden Group has continued its strategic expansion across Europe. In Spain, Howden Iberia has grown to approximately 1,000 employees across 30 offices, managing operations in Portugal and Morocco.
The company said that it aims to reach €200 million in commission revenues within the next four years through its Plan Darwin, focusing on organic growth, strategic acquisitions, and technological transformation.
In the UK and Ireland, Howden employs around 1,500 individuals across 40 offices, offering a range of insurance services.
