Howden has announced the addition of two new members, Dean Barker and Ross Power, to its team in the South and West Wales region.
As per his LinkedIn, Barker has been appointed as an account executive at Howden, coming to the role with nearly two decades of experience in the insurance sector. Barker has previously worked with regional and national brokers, including Jelf and Towergate.
In his new role, he will focus on providing insurance solutions to businesses across various commercial sectors, particularly in construction, manufacturing, and retail.
“Engaging with and providing dedicated assistance to our clients is a true passion of mine, and Howden’s commitment to a client-centric approach really resonates with me. I was also impressed by how active the firm is within the local community, and this is something I’m really looking forward to getting involved in,” Barker said.
Power, on the other hand, joins Howden as a commercial account handler. Based in Swansea, Power is tasked with supporting Account Executives in developing new business, attracting new clients, and addressing clients' day-to-day requirements.
Power brings extensive experience in the insurance industry, particularly in the South Wales region, having previously worked with several local brokers, including Douglas Insurance.
These appointments come alongside the opening of a new office in Swansea, reflecting Howden UK & Ireland's commitment to expanding its presence in the South and West Wales region and providing risk advisory services to local businesses.
Barker and Power will be working under the leadership of Gary Stevens, regional managing director of Howden.
“As regional managing director, I am confident that their contributions will play a key role in our continued success in the region. We are excited to have them on board as we expand our operations with our new Swansea office,” Stevens said.
