Insurance broker Howden has announced the appointment of Colin Reddy as head of financial institutions and advisory for its capital, advisory, and placement business, Howden CAP. In this new role, Reddy will be based in London as a managing director, utilizing his expertise to provide balance sheet and regulatory advisory services to clients and expanding Howden CAP’s existing expertise.
Reddy comes to the role with over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, most recently from Mizuho Financial Group. In that role, Reddy oversaw the financial institutions debt capital markets team across Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Prior to this, he spent 10 years at Bank of Ireland, working across various functions relating to asset and balance sheet management.
A Dublin City University graduate, Reddy has a bachelor’s degree in business studies and a master of sciences degree in investment and treasury. He is also a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a distinction he earned in the Dublin Business School.
Howden CAP CEO Mary O’Connor said in a news release that Reddy’s appointment is testament to the firm’s plans to expand traditional insurance structures for their clients.
“Colin’s appointment reflects our strategy to attract talented individuals from outside of the sector, ensuring that insurance remains relevant to clients at this time, and challenging the ways that the industry addresses clients’ long-term capital risks,” O’Connor said.
